RISE—an acronym for Recreation, Innovation, Scholarship, & Engagement—is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in underserved communities through educational programs, creative initiatives, and inclusive community engagement.

RISE is recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Upcoming Initiatives in Collinwood

RISE is launching several exciting initiatives, including:

  • Horses to the Neighborhood
     A unique program that introduces youth and adults to horses—right in their own community.

  • Urban Park Concert Series
     Seasonal summer and fall concerts that bring music, art, and culture directly to the heart of the neighborhood.

  • Collinwood Heritage Room
    A collaborative partnership between RISE, the Collinwood Nottingham Historical Society, and Ariel International, owner of the Ariel LaSalle Theater, to celebrate and preserve Collinwood’s rich history.

  • Community Recognition Award
    An initiative to honor individuals who go above and beyond in service to the Collinwood community.

  • Capital Campaign
    A major fundraising effort to support these transformative projects and expand their impact.

RISE Community Advancement, Inc. aims to improve the Collinwood community and neighborhoods like it through a multifaceted approach that includes:

  • Resource Allocation and Program Development: RISE plans to channel and create resources, funds, programs, and connections to benefit the residents and institutions of Collinwood and similar communities. This includes creating or partnering in the creation of programs, facilities, and services that enhance the community's overall well-being.

  • Empowerment of Disadvantaged Populations: RISE is dedicated to providing opportunities and resources to disadvantaged and marginalized groups within the community. This involves addressing the needs of those who have historically lacked access to essential resources.

  • Reversal of Community Deterioration: One of RISE's primary objectives is reversing community deterioration. By revitalizing and improving the physical and social environment, RISE hopes to enhance the quality of life for residents.

  • Collaboration with Community Development Organizations: RISE is committed to supporting other community development and advancement organizations. By working together with other groups, RISE aims to amplify its impact and foster a more comprehensive approach to community improvement.

  • Focus on Equitable and Effective Development: RISE's mission emphasizes equitable and effective development in the North and South Collinwood communities. Our goal is to ensure that all residents benefit from community improvements and have access to opportunities. This includes initiatives to improve the general welfare of the community and foster positive change.

RISE's approach combines resource allocation, program development, targeted support for marginalized groups, collaborative efforts, and a commitment to equitable development, all aimed at creating a thriving and inclusive community in Collinwood and its surrounding neighborhoods.
